Yves Saint Laurent Babydoll Mascara - Effet Faux Cils
not good :(
Ok so I'm comparing this to my normal Hypnose..hardly any length with the baby doll and as the wand is pretty long and the plastic brush slightly flexible its hard to really push and lift on the lashes to create the curl. First layer thin hardly there but I find when I try to layer the second the first layer comes off slightly leaving patches on lashes rather than the whole black colour. For me it didn't hold the curl up high enough compared to my Hypnose.

I'm very torn when it comes to this mascara. There's some thing I absolutely love about it, while the things I hate are impossible to overlook.
I love the rubber brush. It's soft, flexible and just a very nice brush. I love the packaging- the gold tube with the elegant YSL logo has a very luxurious feel to it. I love the formula (in the short window of time before it dries up) and the way two coats give me a nice and dramatic look. I love the smell- this is the only mascara I've owned that is perfumed and I adore that!
I hate that while the formula is wet, it clumps my eyelashes just a bit and it's very easy to leave mascara transfer all over my eyelid. I hate that after about two weeks the texture gets better and gives me perfect lashes only to dry up after a month. It's like teasing you with something utterly beautiful only to turn it into something utterly mediocre as soon as you start to enjoy it. Now that it's dry, it doesn't transfer onto my eyelids at all and the texture, while thick, actually stopped clumping and coats my lashes nicely, but the volumising and lenghtening effect is no longer there. It gives me the same look my high street mascara does, and that's less than half the price of this one.
If it didn't dry up so very quickly, this would be a 5 star mascara, but unfortunately that's not the case. It's a shame because it is utterly gorgeous.

This is my new favourite mascara....the brush might look small compared to similar products but it coats every eyelash. I do feel the mascara gives the false effect look, my lashes are thicker and longer using this. Although it's pricey if it works then it's worth spending that little bit extra. I'm a convert and when I run out I will be buying this again.
