Aptamil Anti-Reflux From Birth to 1 Year 900g
Thickened formula for the dietary management of frequent reflux and regurgitation suitable from birth. Babies often regurgitate small amounts of milk after feeding, sometimes with wind; this is known as posseting and is perfectly normal. Thickened formulas can be helpful in cases of frequent regurgitation or reflux, helping feeds to stay in the stomach. Aptamil Anti-Reflux is specially formulated with carob bean gum, which thickens the formula on mixing and remains thick in the stomach, helping the feed to stay down. Aptamil Anti-Reflux is a nutritionally complete formula; you can use it to feed your baby as a sole source of nutrition from birth and as part of a weaning diet from 6 months to 1 year. It is formulated to be easy to digest and also contains LCPs (Omega 3 and 6) and nucleotides.

Always use the scoop provided, please note the colour of the scoop in this pack may change from time to time. Preparing and storing your baby's feed. Because powdered milks are not sterile, failure to follow instructions may make your baby ill. Wash hands and sterilise all utensils according to manufacturers' instructions. Boil freshly run water. Do not use artificially softened or repeatedly boiled water. Measure the required amount of boiled water into a large sterilised bottle. Seal bottle and allow to cool for 45 minutes. Unlike other formulae, this thickened feed mixes best in hand-hot water. Using the scoop provided, level off the powder with the built-in leveller. Do not press or heap the powder. Add one scoop per 30ml (1 fl oz) of boiled and cooled water. Add the correct number of scoops can be harmful. Shake the bottle vigorously for 20 seconds and then leave to stand or 7 minutes to allow it to thicken. Turn the bottle upside down just before feeding and test the temperature on your wrist.
Aptamil Anti-Reflux is a thickened feed - please use a Single Hole Fast Flow Teat. For hygiene reasons, do not store made up feeds. Make up each feed as required and always discard unfinished feeds after 2 hours. If necessary, offer cooled boiled water between feeds. Do not heat in a microwave. Hot spots may occur and cause scalding. This product should not be used in combination with antacids or other feed thickeners.
If you are concerned that your baby is having frequent reflux or regurgitation you should speak to your Healthcare Professional before using this product. Reflux and regurgitation will normally resolve by around 12 months as your baby's digestive system becomes more mature. The following tips can be helpful in reducing the symptoms of reflux: Feeding smaller amounts more frequently. Changing to a more upright feeding position. Winding during the feed rather than at the end of the feed. Checking if the teat size you are using is suitable.
